Barriers to Mature Age Employment: Final Report of the Consultative Forum on Mature Age Participation

Released October 2012

This excellent report by the National Seniors Productive Ageing Centre in Canberra. I launching the report the Hon Kate Ellis Minister for Employment Participation said “The Survey was taken by more than 3,000 Australians aged between 45 to 74. This included workers, job seekers and those not in the labour force. The Survey measured the extent of the barriers to employment faced by mature age people. It found that age discrimination was a strong concern for mature age people, particularly those looking for work and ranked as medium barriers across all groups.”
